With the vision of Media businessman and philanthropist, Hal Taussig, the hard work of some dedicated volunteers, and the help of one of our borough council persons, our town achieved the distinction of becoming the first Fair Trade Town in the Americas, all in an incredibly short time period. And with new members regularly joining our committee and meeting one hour per week almost year round, we have built on our original success to educate more consumers and business people, increase the number of available Fair Trade products and their outlets and create a larger presence in the community.
