San Francisco, CA

The Bay Area Fair Trade Coalition has been working since 2005 to educate consumers in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley about the benefits of Fair Trade for producers. Thanks to our efforts, San Francisco has some of the strongest Fair Trade legislation in the country and was declared an official Fair Trade City in May of 2008. In the period since, we have worked with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, Bay Area Rapid Transit and an assortment of local and national Fair Trade licensees to promote Fair Trade to mainstream consumers. The Bay Area Fair Trade Coalition is currently working on campaign to declare Oakland a Fair Trade city and recently helped Berkeley, CA to also win that status in September of 2010.
