Fair Trade Advocacy Office (FTAO) and its partners help to promote the Fair Trade movement, and ensures that producers receive fair prices for their products and labor. The Fair Trade Advocacy Office consists of three viable components, Fair Trade International, the European Fair Trade Association, and the World Fair Trade Office-Europe. Collectively these organizations endorse and support approximately 2.5 million Fair Trade producers, farmers, and workers from 70 countries which have inspired 24 labeling initiatives, 500 specialized Fair Trade importers, 4,000 international retailers, and 100,000 volunteers worldwide to become active movement participants.

U.N. Millennium Development Goals (MDG) seeks to bring about global awareness, education, and provide substantial resources in the effort to drastically reduce poverty by 2015. The world’s countries and its leading development institutions are committed to addressing and mitigating global disparities that threaten sustainability and quality of life. The MDG include: an end to poverty and hunger, offer universal education, seek gender equality, enhance child and maternal health, combat HIV/AIDS, promote and commit to making improvements to the environment, and continue to develop and cultivate valuable relationships with global partners.
